Who Owns Your Sensor Data Quality?

Data quality has no clear owner in many manufacturing companies.

And when no one owns data quality, you know what happens?

It falls through the cracks.

Think about it.

Today, storing data is a commodity. Everyone’s doing it.

Enterprises have made the leap from collecting and storing data, straight into analytics, dashboards, even AI.

They’re encouraging their teams to “do more with data.” But there’s a glaring issue.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.

Manufacturing companies generate massive volumes of sensor data. That data is the beating heart of their operations. It’s how they make money, improve processes, and drive decisions.

And yet, that data?
❌ No governance.
❌ No accountability.
❌ No trust.

Instead, companies apply data governance only to safe, structured systems like SAP or CRM platforms.

Meanwhile, their sensor data, the really valuable stuff, is left unowned, unaudited, and unreliable.

And still, teams are expected to build dashboards, make decisions, and train models using this data.
